Reasons to Opt for Weight Loss

Obesity – Who, When and Why

Obesity is a word that you constantly hear about but many know very little about the background of this serious health condition. I would rather stamp this word as a Disease which is often followed by health risks like coronary heart diseases, high cholesterol, stroke, high BP and acute forms of cancer. It is strongly recommended by health experts to lose weight if you belong to any of the below described criterions:

History of Chronic Diseases:

If overweight or obese and genetically predisposed to certain chronic disease such as asthma, heart disease, diabetes etc. a person is facing a greater risk for their early-onset.

“Apple” or “Pear” Shaped:

There is a difference where the body system stores the extra fat. Apple shaped people accumulate fat around their belly whereas pear shaped people concentrate fat on their hip and buttock region. Both are defined as obese but the risks of developing mild diseases vary. Persons whose fat is stored around their waist or belly region, i.e. “Apple” shaped body, are more likely to develop a obesity-related health condition such as cancer, diabetes etc.

Other Conditions:

Besides genetic predisposition a person having other health conditions should avoid careless eating habits as they can affect other body parts more rapidly as compared to a healthy person. It is often difficult for obese persons to be physically active or in other words – obesity may hinder active living they are strongly recommended to follow a healthy diet.

Reasons to Opt For Weight Loss:

The most important reason to opt for weight loss is to achieve an ideal body weight with a slim and sleek figure thus trying to avoid chronic disease. An obese person can decrease the risk of developing the above mentioned harmful health conditions if one tries to lose weight and sheds off 10 – 20 pounds of one’s total weight. Losing weight may not be a big trouble by itself but to keep it off long term is a much more difficult task. Latest medical research has revealed that a weight loss of even 5 – 7% can reduce the risk of diabetes in those obese persons who are likely to develop it otherwise.

Conclusion:

Finally, it can be concluded that regardless of the fact if you need to lose weight or not, you should always try to bring some changes in your dietary and lifestyle in order to improve your health. Always try to cut down the extra calories by ensuring a diet rich in nutrients followed by some physical activity. You may use safe dietary supplements only which should be made of natural and herbal ingredients and free from harmful side effects such as Proactol Plus which is a natural food supplement.
